restaurant finds: the chicago diner

One of my favorite things to do is explore restaurants in the city.  There are literally endless options in all of the different neighborhoods downtown.  I love trying new foods and want to share some cool spots with you guys!

The first vegan/vegetarian restaurant I ever discovered is The Chicago Diner.  Definitely one of the most well known spots in Chicago.  It is completely vegan but if you really want actual cheese on something they will happily add some for you!  There are two locations; the original one opened back in ’83 right in the heart of Boystown on Halsted street.  This one is cool because it looks just like an old fashioned diner!

The spot in Logan Square is more modernized, I tend to go to this one more often because of how close it is to me I just love love love the big sign they have hanging up here!

The menus differ slightly from another, but all in all they are next to perfection!  They have a pretty wide variety of options–you can find so many great things here.

I pretty much get the same things every time I go.  My favorite sandwich from here is the Spicy Crispy Chick’n.  It is to die for!  You gotta get the sweet potato fries with Sriracha ranch on the side, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

They always have super cool specials that change every few weeks, and are open for brunch as well!  If you end up checking this place out, you have to try one of their milkshakes.  That’s what they’re known for!

I will be doing restaurant finds as one of my regular posts, I hope I can help you guys out if you’re looking for cool new spots!  I’d love your feedback if you make it out to any of my suggestions! 🙂

Thank you.
